Description: Vlad Patryshev will be giving an encore presentation of his Silicon Valley Code Camp talk on Monads, Functors and Categories in Scala and Java. Monads are a hot and often misunderstood topic right now, so this will be a good chance to learn about them. We also welcome lightning talks, impassioned pleas for project involvement or Scala developers to join companies, and we have ordered up some cheery holiday spirit for this month as well :-)

Pizza will also be provided (and beer if we have time to pick it up).
