The next meeting of the Bay Area Scala Enthusiasts will be at Twitter HQ in San Francisco THIS THURSDAY, 26th August at 7pm. The reason for this special date and time is that Jonas Boner, the author of the Akka distributed/remote actor library is in town, and willing to speak to BASE on Thursday evening. This is a terrific chance to meet the author of what is, largely, part of the new enterprise solution built around Scala (sort of EJB Session beans, made simple, with easy concurrency and a familiar actor syntax). This meeting will be at Twitter, since Jonas is visiting the city. Twitter HQ is located at 795 Folsom St., Suite 600, San Francisco, CA, 94107 These are the tentative details - *please check back here on the day* to see if there have been any changes (since this is being organized at short notice). As always, please arrive a little early to allow time to sign in. UPDATE: The venue is confirmed as Twitter, at the above address, but on the 3rd floor instead of the 6th (there should be signs of where to go). There will be pizza, and there should be beer as well. |
